I personally started in this business in September, 1998, one year after my father opened our doors here in Fort Lauderdale in October, 1997. That math is on purpose: I want you to know this isn't a chair I inherited last week. Structuring Florida mortgages is the only career I've ever had, and I've spent almost three decades getting good at the part most lenders would rather automate away.

My father was a CPA for Procter & Gamble early in his career, but he was also a well-known, highly successful restaurateur in North Carolina and a commercial real estate investor and developer. He built real things and met real payrolls, and through all of it he ran on one rule I never let go of: do the math right, tell people the truth, and treat their money like it's your own. That sounds simple. In this industry, it's nearly extinct.

Here's what I mean. At the big-box lenders, your loan gets passed down a line — a voice that takes your information, another that "reviews" it, another that calls when something breaks. Nobody owns it. So when your file hits a wrinkle, and real files almost always do, there's no one who actually knows your situation well enough to fix it.

When you work with me, there is no line to get passed down. I read your file myself. I find the right loan myself. And I'm the one who picks up when you call. Full accountability.

That's not a slogan — it's just the only way I know how to do this honestly. A real person, who knows your name and your numbers, from the first conversation to the day you get your keys. Some of the toughest files I've closed are ones a call center had already turned down. The problem usually wasn't the borrower. It was that nobody bothered to look hard enough.
