I personally started in this business in September, 1998, one year after my father opened our doors here in Fort Lauderdale in October, 1997. That math is on purpose: I want you to know this isn't a chair I inherited last week. Structuring Florida mortgages is the only career I've ever had, and I've spent decades getting good at the part most lenders would rather automate away.

My father was a CPA for Procter & Gamble early in his career, but he was also a well-known, highly successful restaurateur in North Carolina and a commercial real estate investor and developer. He built real things and met real payrolls, and through all of it he ran on one rule I never let go of: do the math right, tell people the truth, and treat their money like it's your own. That sounds simple. In this industry, it's nearly extinct.
